We are looking for an enthusiastic, curious, and driven Graduate IT Engineer who is excited by variety and eager to learn. If you hate the idea of being siloed into just one technology, this is the place for you. You will kickstart your career by getting hands-on with a complex, high-security ecosystem spanning Windows, Linux, and modern Software-Defined and Cloud Data Centres.
You don’t need to know it all on day one. We are looking for a “Sponge”, someone with a logical mind, a passion for technology, and the drive to learn how to design secure networks, automate server builds, and troubleshoot complex systems alongside our senior experts.
This role is twofold, offering you the unique opportunity to learn on the job by supporting internal cutting-edge R&D projects while helping deliver real-world solutions for our clients.
Foundational Full-Stack Infrastructure: Learn the ropes of high-availability servers, storage, and networking by assisting senior engineers with deployments and lifecycle management.
Hybrid Environment Exposure: Get stuck into a diverse production estate, learning how to seamlessly bridge the gap between Windows, Linux and Kubernetes platforms.
An Introduction to Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Learn how to wave goodbye to manual configurations. You will be trained to use modern automation tools like Terraform and Ansible.
Collaborative Troubleshooting: Shadow senior engineers to diagnose and resolve system issues, developing deep-dive forensic skills across both physical hardware and digital environments.
Development Exposure: Above and beyond IaC, get involved with code development and deployment to support the internal business and external customers.
Cyber Security: Build a strong knowledge of developing and deploying secure systems, understanding the processes and frameworks.
A Relevant Degree: You must have a minimum of a 2:1 bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/STEM or a relevant field.
A Passion for Technology: You might have completed a relevant boot camp, or be a self-taught tech enthusiast with a killer home lab.
An Automation Mindset: You have a natural aversion to doing the same task twice and a strong desire to learn scripting (like PowerShell or Bash) and automation tools.
Curious & Hands-On: A “builder” mentality. You want to understand how things work under the hood, from physical server hardware to the virtual networks connecting them.
Great Attitude & Drive: You are comfortable asking questions, admit when you don’t know something, and view every challenge as a chance to learn.
Requirement: Due to the highly sensitive nature of the environments you will support, you will be willing to undergo security clearance. (Note: We will support you through this process if you do not already hold it). For this, we can only consider applicants who are Sole UK Nationals.
Financial: Up to £34,000.
Security: Full-time, permanent role within a stable, high-growth sector.
Balance: A genuine hybrid working model based in Bristol and the South, including travel to our head office in Basingstoke. Potential travel to client sites and international trips.
